Summary
We were honored to work with Houseplantsitter to develop their first website and lead management process. Houseplantsitter is a full-service in-home/in-office plant care business. They offer all services necessary to keep indoor plants alive and well. When we heard the idea, we knew it would be a hit and got to work on giving them a great starting point.
Constructing the website
We started by building a strong, yet simple WordPress site. Being a new business, HPS didn’t have much content to work with. And, since their industry was rather niche, we knew we need to emphasize being informative.
From that we designed a simple 5 page site. The home page was designed to welcome the visitor and quickly explain what plant care services do. Then we create a dedicated page for each of the primary customer types: residential and commercial. Each page was tailored to the primary needs of the audience. Next, we added an about page to give the history of HPS and legitimatize the service. Last, we created an FAQ page to answer common questions the HPS team had already received and for additional questions as they came up.
Getting customers
The primary goal of the site was to generate leads. To emphasize that we added a strong CTA button and clear phone number to the top of every page. We also added a Contact US form to the bottom of each page.
To manage incoming leads, we established a HubSpot account for HPS. We connected the leads form directly to Hubspot using a custom API script and set each lead submission to go straight to the HPS sales email. Lastly, we built a confirmation email for each lead to receive which summarized the onboarding process and laid out next steps.
Monitoring and Reporting
We set up Google Analytics of the website and established a weekly report to be emailed to the HPS team so they could keep track of site performance. We also established a leads dashboard in HubSpot to monitor overall lead flow and lead sources. Access to all of these services was provided to the HPS team with detailed documentation on how to utilize them.
