Summary

ReferredMe is a start-up seeking to change the way people job hunt by encouraging the use of referrals. We worked with them on a new way to use AI to increase SEO standing by automatically generating SEO pages.

AI generated SEO pages

With ReferredMe, we want to create SEO pages designed to target traffic for cities, states, job types, and companies related to the jobs listed in their database. Since the ReferredMe site automatically pulls in new job related to the companies of new users, making the pages manual would have required constant upkeep. Instead, we leveraged AI to automatically generate new pages.

We created template pages for the specific categories and each template contain 3 – 5 custom content areas where the copy should be customized. We then created an automated process that queries the database for new values (i.e. new cities, companies, etc.) that don’t have an SEO page yet. Once it finds a new value it leverages AI to create copy to fill the custom content areas. By predefining what type of content goes into each section (i.e. a 3 – 5 sentence paragraph about why X city is great to live in) and how many times a keyword should be used in each section (i.e. use X city name 5 times in this section), the AI was able to produce coherent copy automatically for each section. We then simply feed the copy into the template and generated a new page.

Encouraging the search engines

Once the pages were created, we needed a way to ensure the search engines would see them. For this we added another piece to the automation which would automatically add new pages to Sitemap XML file for the site. We then ensure that Google Search Console and other search engines systems would read this Sitemap when crawling the ReferredMe site. With this, the every-expanding list of pages would be crawled and seen by the search engines.
